I don't care if it's grainy, it would solidify Smith's performance by showing those who never got to see the real Huey how well the actor nailed his performance. Also, I really wanted to see more actual footage of the real Huey as a special feature. Newton Story" is the only worthwhile, classy product that they put out. They force you to watch their preview of the other DVD's and by the looks of them, "A Huey P. My dislikes include the long introduction preview by Urban Works Entertainment. (I hope Roger's OK because he had to put away a pack of smokes just in the filming process!) The chain-smoking was authentic and I hurt just to watch. (This is the same man who played an FBI agent in "Panther" whose job was to force Huey and the Panthers into extinction!) Not only did he have the Huey-look, but also the voice, the rambling, and the essence of the co-founder of the Panthers. He is absolutely brilliant in this film adaptation of his solo performance.

I cannot stress the talent that is displayed in this movie of Roger Guenveur Smith.
However, we get to see what made Huey great and how he became a major part of the catalyst for revolution that was the Black Panther Party for Self Defense.
The paranoia that was founded in the government's targeting of Huey through COINTELPRO's psychological warfare is truly evident throughout the film. It is a twisted view because that's how Huey's life ended. I give Spike Lee credit for giving one last thorough look at Huey P.
